Man dies, 2 missing after fishing boat catches fire

A man died and a rescue operation was under way for at least two others who went missing after a mainland fishing vessel caught fire and capsized just outside Hong Kong waters off Sai Kung on Sunday.
Local police said their mainland counterparts requested help at around 11am to rescue about 10 people from the boat when it overturned. The crew had jumped into the sea as they feared the vessel, which was taking on water, was about to sink.
Mainland authorities pulled seven people to safety before requesting assistance.
Hong Kong rescuers lifted another man unconscious from the water but he was later declared dead at Ruttonjee Hospital. The two other men were still missing as of Sunday evening.
